Resurrection Gardens

New Orleans, Louisiana

Our Story

Resurrection Gardens is a New Orleans-based food business founded by chef David Barbeau, combining his culinary background with a passion for locally grown produce, traditional food preservation, and creative flavors.

With experience in professional kitchens, David brings a chef's perspective to preserving fresh vegetables and other ingredients through pickling and jarring. His products reflect a commitment to transforming seasonal ingredients into flavorful pantry staples that can be enjoyed beyond the harvest.

Alongside his preserved foods, David operates an urban growing project on Jackson Avenue in New Orleans, connecting his work in the kitchen with the process of growing fresh produce.

Through Resurrection Gardens, David brings together small-scale agriculture, culinary craftsmanship, and traditional preservation techniques to create distinctive products rooted in New Orleans' local food culture

Production Practices

Resurrection Gardens specializes in small-batch pickled vegetables and other jarred foods, using traditional preservation techniques to develop bold flavors and extend the enjoyment of seasonal ingredients.

Drawing on his experience as a chef, David approaches pickling with an emphasis on ingredient quality, balanced flavors, and careful preparation.

His work also includes growing produce through his New Orleans urban garden, creating a connection between locally grown ingredients and handcrafted preserved foods.

By combining culinary creativity with traditional pickling and jarring methods, Resurrection Gardens offers an alternative to mass-produced pantry products while celebrating the flavors of Louisiana.
